Blink 182 planning a comeback?

Former singer and lead guitarist of Blink 182, Mark Hoppus, has revealed that a possible Blink 182 reunion is not out of the question.

Writing on his official site, himynameismark.com, the former singer of the band informs fans that he recently got back in touch with both Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker.

“In the midst of everything else that has happened lately [Travis Barker escaped death from a plane accident recently], Tom, Travis, and I have all spoken together. First through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours,” says Hoppus.

“We’re just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking.”

Blink 182 announced their “indefinite hiatus” in early 2005.

“Obviously the first question for a lot of people will be ‘Does this mean a Blink-182 reunion?’ The answer is none of us know,” Hoppus continues.

“Right now it’s just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past.”

“The events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. Life is too short.”

Before Blink 182 broke up, five albums had been made under their name. After their break through album "Dude Ranch" back in 1997, Trav Barker replaced Scott Raynor on drums and the newly formed Blink 182 went on to produce "Enema of the State", "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" and "Blink 182". They've sold millions of albums worldwide and built a huge fanbase. Let's just say, if they did return back to the music scene, they would get a great reception.

Blink 182's Travis Barker survives plane crash

In one of the luckiest, yet tragic stories to hit the music industry this year, doctors announced today thar Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to make full recoveries from injuries sustained in a plane crash.

The former Blink 182 drummer and the DJ – real name Adam Goldstein – have been in a critical condition with second and third degree burns after their jet crashed on take off in Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday night (19.09.08), killing the four other passengers on board.

Medics believe the two musicians will eventually recover from their injuries. Dr. Fred Mullins of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors' Hospital in Augusta said: 'Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn't suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected. 'Recovery could take up to a year, but I would expect it would be much sooner than that." The doctor said Travis suffered burns to his torso and lower body, while DJ AM was burned on his arms and head. Both are in the intensive-care unit of the hospital and are reported as being critical but stable.

Nicole Richie (previously engaged to DJ AM) is said to be 'in shock' following the crash, while her fiancé Joel Madden (Good Charlotte) is also distraught by the news. A source said: "She wishes only the best for Adam and hopes he recovers from this. She's horribly upset about the people who died. Joel knows Travis and also feels terrible and hopes they recover. This is terrible news for both of them."

Lindsay Lohan is among the stars who have spoken out about the tragedy. Posting on her MySpace blog, Lindsay wrote: 'Please send your prayers out to Adam Goldstien and Travis Barker - along with the others lost in the plane crash. It's so scary to think that life can end so fast. We must all treasure each and every moment, and be thankful for what we have.'

The crash occurred after the two men had played a free concert under the name of TRVSDJ-AM in Columbia. Pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, co-pilot James Bland, 52, Travis’ assistant Chris Baker, 29, and his security guard Charles Sill, 25, all lost their lives. No one else was on board the jet.
