The Music and The Fratellis to perform at The Big O

They were here in August for Splendour in The Grass and now they're coming back. The Music and The Fratellis return to our shores in February for The Big O. Presented by Secret Sounds, The Big O is ‘an annual orientation week’ that will travel to the country’s University campuses. The mini-festival is set to visit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Wollongong and Newcastle in the week before classes kick off again.

Remember the days when you'd get the likes of Frenzal Rhomb, Jebediah and Area-7 popping up at your campus, well not next year. On top of The Music and The Fratellis is the one and only, our very own, Mr Ben Lee. Rounding out the bill are party bands Bluejuice, Yves Klein Blue and Cassette Kids.

Not just a festival for the students, The Big O touches down at the following uni campuses throughout February and March. Tickets on sale 12pm Friday 19 December.

Thursday 26 February – Monash University, Clayton Campus, Melbourne
Friday 27 February – University of Sydney, Manning House
Saturday 28 February – University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus Amphitheatre, Brisbane
Tuesday 3 March – Australian National University Bar and Refectory, Canberra
Thursday 5 March – University of Wollongong, The Great Hall & Uni Bar
Friday 6 March – Newcastle Uni, Bar On The Hill & Outdoor Surrounds

Fratellis are scared to fly QANTAS

Fratellis frontman Jon Fratelli has spoken out about his anxiety over the band’s forthcoming Australian tour.

John has a fear of flying, made no better by the fact that his flight to Australia comes only a week since the same flight was forced to make an emergency landing when a hole was torn in its fuselage at 30,000ft.

Jon told The Sun: "I might just decide never to fly again. I was getting better. The phobia wasn’t so bad, then pieces of airplanes rip off and they show it all over the news and freak you out!

"What’s worse is it was a Qantas plane flying from London to Australia, which is what I’m getting on!"

The Fratellis will spend three weeks touring Australia and Japan before heading back for Reading and Leeds Festival on August 22-24.

All shows are sold out across the country including the Splendour in the Grass festival this weekend!!!!
