Lily Allen to tour Australia

Yay yay yay yay! Finally, Lily Allen is coming back to Australia. Having just released her sexy sophomore album, 'It’s Not Me, It’s You', our favourite smart ass girl is heading dowunder to get up to no good for her first tour here since 2007.

Not one to keep quiet, Allen has been all over the tabloids recently for espousing her thoughts on everything from snogging the ladies, shagging aussie men to recreational drug use. Not that this has done any harm to the success of her second album which has shot to the number one spot on the Austrlian and UK album charts.

ALBUM REVIEW: 'It's Not You, It's Me' - Lily Allen

In recent times, Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage, broken up with her long-time boyfriend from Chemical Brothers, caught half naked a few too many times and put her two cents into everything. Hands down, Lily Allen is one of the mouthiest girls to have come out of the UK in a while now, and her new album certainly lives up to that tag. Everyone should know this - Lily Allen is still as ballzy as ever.

From the beginning you can see how Allen is more than happy to say whatever she wants and not caring if it might offend anyone. 'Everyone's At It' is a clear statement that everyone from both rags to riches are munching on something illicit. 'The Fear' launches into an attack on the messed up state of the world today. The fun, toe tapping hillbilly song 'Not Fair' seems like a dig at a possible ex-boyfriend of her, especially when says "i lie here in the wet patch in the middle of the bed, im feeling pretty darn hard done by, i spent ages giving head".

After the first three songs, Lily begins to show glimpses of maturity. '22' explains how partying too hard too early could cost you dearly in life ahead, and 'I Could Say' talks about the saddness of relationships coming to an end. 'Back To The Start' drifts from the lollipop sucking sounds to a more energetic and edgier attitude to the album. However, just when you think Lily is starting to take her music to a new level, she comes back to her old school ways with the lame 'Never Going To Happen'. Summed up with the line from the actual song "how on earth can i be more obvious".

'Fuck You' is probably one of the better songs on the album. This time, Lily decides to have a go yee old ex prez G Dubya. 'Who'd Have Known' disappointingly allows Lily to turn the volume notch on the album down to a melancholic, boring level. On 'Chinese', Lily once again talks about relationships, which by now the listener should be bored of listening too. With 'Him', Lily decides to question God and as to whether "he's skint, or financially secure?" or "ever taken smack or cocaine>?". Somehow Lily Allen thinks that God's "favourite band is 'Creedance Clearwater Revival". We don't how she got that. For the final song "He Wasn't There", it sounds like you're listening to Lily on a vinyl. The crackle in the background, coupled with the piano, actually makes it feel like Lily's performing in a little jazz bar in the 1930's. It's actually nice and freshing, but just a little too late.

So, overall, this album is nice. That's probably it. It definitely has its great moments, but there's also a lot of dull moments. The kids at Music Universe love Lily because she's cute, provocative and beddable, and that's exactly what 'It's Not You, It's Me' is.

Lily Allen coming to Australia

Lily Allen will drop in to Sydney and Melbourne this March for a short promotional appearance co-inciding with the launch of her spanking second album 'It's Not Me, It's You'.

Full details have yet to be announced regarding venues, or whether indeed the general public will be able to attend. Nevertheless, Lily will be joined by a live band according to the press release we received and she will be in the country from March 1 through to the 5th.

Lily Allen to release sophmore on Feb 9th

For all those waiting in anticipation, we and Lily have an announcement to make.

Miss Allen’s new album will be released on February 9 2009.

Yep, Lily Allen has revealed on her blog that her LP (provisionally titled 'Stuck on the Naughty Step') will hit the shops next year, but assured fans she will be releasing new material before then. 'My new album will be released on the 9th of Feb 2009. I know it's a while away, but there will be bits and bobs flying around before then, I'm shooting a video (for viral release) in the next couple of weeks, to keep you entertained.'

She also wrote: 'I am so excited, we're getting all the artwork and stuff done and coming up with new and interesting ideas. I am trying really hard to do this album with integrity and I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last minute industry bullshizz.'

Lily recently released a track titled 'Guess Who Batman?. This track is Lily Allen at her finest. You can't help but laugh when Lily uses the F-word, especially considering its in such a happy sounding song. Music Universe just loves you Lily Allen. Hopefully it will make the album.

Kaiser Chiefs to release 'Off With Their Heads' October 13

Leeds boys Kaiser Chiefs have announced the details of their third album. The follow-up to last year's Yours Truly, Angry Mob is called Off With Their Heads, and it comes out October 14 via Universal Motown (October 13 in the UK).

Lily Allen and members of New Young Pony Club contributed backing vocals to "Never Miss a Beat", while Lily appears again on "Always Happens Like That". Pal Mark Ronson, who had a hit with his cover of the Kaisers' "Oh My God" featuring Lily on vocals, produced the album with Eliot James. Off With Their Heads also features contributions from grime MC Sway and film composer/Björk arranger David Arnold.

Kaiser Chiefs tour Europe this month then head to the U.S. in November for a trio of dates.

Lily Allen completes second album

Lily Allen has announced that her new album is complete.

The follow-up to her 2006 smash debut Alright, Still is being handed in to record bosses next week."I’m pretty much sure it’s finished and I’ve got a meeting on Tuesday with the label, I’m really happy," the singer told the BBC.

She was also keen to stress that she wasn't worried what her label makes of the new tracks.She said: "As much as I love them they’re just people who give you a loan. I’m not scared of my label."

Lily performed two songs at Glastonbury with pal Mark Ronson on Sunday (June 29) despite the sudden death of her Grandmother on Saturday (June 28).

Lily Allen to sing on new Kaiser Chiefs' album

Lily Allen will sing on the Kaiser Chiefs' new album.

The collaboration is the brainchild of producer Mark Ronson - who masterminded Lily's cover of the band's 'Oh My God'.

He said: "I'm busy producing the new Kaiser Chiefs album as well as Lily's next record.

"Recently I had a thought: 'Why don't they do a track together?' I spoke to them and everyone was keen so it happened. It sounds awesome. Lily and Ricky Wilson's vocals really gel and the instrumentals are top drawer."
Mark says they've set their sights on summer success. He added: "We're hoping it's going to be a big one. I'd definitely rock out to it at a festival. It's a summer track, even if the weather isn't that great."

The Kaiser Chiefs - comprising Ricky Wilson, Andrew White, Simon Rix, Nick Baines and Nick Hodgson - are currently working on a follow-up to their hit 2007 album 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' in a London studio with Ronson.

Lily Allen wanted by Jermain Defoe

Guess which English soccer star is pursuing Lily Allen because he is obsessed with her womanly curves?

We had a list of at least 100 players........including the culprit, Jermain Defoe of Portsmouth Football Club.

The 'Smile' singer - who split from Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons in January after suffering a miscarriage - has been "bombarded" with phone calls from Defoe, who is known for his success with women.

A source close to the Portsmouth star told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Jermain is done with skinny blondes and thinks curvy Lily would be perfect. He thinks she is the perfect mix of ghetto and posh, and he also likes her curvy ass too."

However, 22-year-old Lily is said to have her eye on someone else - 'Harry Potter' star Rupert Grint.

Good luck Jermain - seems like some really stiff competition.

Lily Allen suffers miscarriage

UK pop star Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage.

Lily, and the father, Ed Simmons of the Chemical Brothers, were expecting their first child.
reports from the UK state that Lily lost the baby yesterday.

The reports have been confirmed by her publicist who says that no further comment will be made on the matter.

Lily and Ed have been together since September last year. She was in very early stages of pregnancy.

Lily Allen has confirmed that she is expecting a baby with Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers. I wonder if they call it 'Alfie'??

Sources say they the 22-year-old pop star and her boyfriend, 37-year-old Chemical Brothers member Ed Simons, are "obviously both thrilled by the news."

According to the singer’s spokesman, Allen is still expected to release her as-yet untitled second album in 2008.

Lily Allen calling it quits

Singer Lily Allen is planning on quitting music.

Allen has previously said she only wants to be in this game for a short while, then marry someone very rich and settle down and have a family.

"It's a great job but it doesn't leave time for what's important - like having a family," she told The Sun (UK).

"I'm only going to do one more album. I just want to make some money - maybe I could retire at 25."

If only we could all have the luxury of retiring at 25!!!
