Jose Gonzalez announces Australian tour

On top of the recent announcement about the Perth Arts Festival, soft-natured songman José González has announced a string of theatre shows around Australia in February.

Jose Gonzalez was last here for the 2007/08 Falls Festival and Southbound Festival, taking his intimate acoustic-folk into the open air skies of Australia. It's no secret that he loves Australia, having two prior tours here sell out very very quickly. Jose’s last album was the beautiful 'In Our Nature', however we're sure that there will be new songs up his sleeve this time round.

Catch José González with guitar and all next February.

Friday 6 – City Recital Hall, Angel Place, Sydney
Saturday 7 – Powerhouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse
Monday 9 – Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne
Wednesday 11 – Wrest Point Entertainment Centre, Plenary Theatre, Hobart
Friday 13 – Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide
Saturday 14 – Perth International Arts Festival – Beck’s Music Box

Jose Gonzalez to perform at Perth's International Arts Festival

Perth will once again be on the receiving end of a wealth of international talent when the Perth International Arts Festival launches in February next year.

Events range from theatre and dance through to rock music and film, with some of the high profile visitors including Cate Blanchett, Jazz giants Chick Corea and John McLaughlin, singer/songwriter Jose Gonzalez and the legendary Tony Allen.

Joining them will be a variety of indie bands including Mogwai, Of Montreal and Black Mountain. Recent ARIA winner Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu will be performing too.

The festival runs from February 13 to March 8 which includes 23 nights of bands, world music, jazz, cabaret and comedy.
