DJ Shadow vs. Cut Chemist are back!

Following in the footsteps of their now-legendary "Brainfreeze" (1999) and "Product Placement" (2001) sets, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist have outdone themselves.

Their new, all-45 show, entitled "The Hard Sell," incorporates eight turntables and two guitar loop pedals, allowing tricks and complexity rarely attempted by a DJ duo. As with the two previous sets, the pair eschew their own material in favour of an amalgam of music from all eras and styles, providing for amusing and provocative mash-ups; rap mixes with fiddle music, doo-wop with new wave, and everything in between...all while avoiding the obvious, "been there, heard that" stuff you get from most DJs.

The last time "The Hard Sell" was performed, was in the United States in front of 15,000 people at the world famous Hollywood Bowl...so you know it's going to be special. In the words of Shadow himself, "we want to play something to make everyone smile...and then send them running for the exits!"

Brand New announce tour

As the rock scene reaches saturation point, bands are finding they have a lot to prove to stay in the game; and none have risen to the challenge quite like Brand New. Having formed in 2001, the Long Island four-piece has built a massive cult following based on notorious live shows, relentless touring and three jaw-dropping albums.
After nearly three years of self-imposed silence Brand New finally emerged in late 2006 with their hotly anticipated third album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me. Australian fans were rewarded for their patience and persistence as Brand New performed a string of brilliant concerts up and down the East Coast. All shows sold out within a matter of days with thousands of fans left pondering what could have been. For those fans lucky enough to score tickets they were treated to one of the most electric and moving performances of 2007.Recently announced on the massive Big Day Out lineup, Brand New will also be performing select one off shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Australian Idol flops again

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Australian Gaydol (vomit) has done it again.

First week sales for 2007 Australian Idol winner Natalie Gauci (Tina Arena??) have been a disaster. Gauci has not only become the first Idol winner to not top the chart with the winning song. The song has sold less than 8000 units, including physical CD and downloads.

'Here I Am' sold 7463 units and came in at number two. Timbaland's number one song 'Apologize' sold 12,063 units.

The song was available for download not long after the winning announcement was made. Only 3,271 units sold via download.
Enough is enough Channel 10. Australian Idol is a farce and an embarresment to the music industry. Please listen to the Australian public and PULL THE PLUG!!! Go find the next Australian Idol in a local pub/bar near you. There's thousands better than those that go on tv.
