In a move sure to surprise as many fans as it delights, Queens Of The Stone Age mouthpiece Josh Homme has signed on to produce new songs for Arctic Monkeys. The Sheffield lads will jet across to Joshua Tree, California next month to spend some studio time with Homme. As the QOTSA man told NME, it’s all in the name of experimenting.
“I think it’s going to work out great,” he enthused to the UK mag. “They want to submerge themselves in a place that’s the opposite of where they’re from and what they’re used to. I think we’re just going to start by doing a couple of tracks. No pressure. The goal is to make something that they dig so much that everyone else can too.”
Expect some heavier sounds coming from the Monkey camp.
