Guys, we thought we'd write another piece in the 'must attend once before you die' music festivals series. This time we want to talk about Lollapalooza.
Lollapalooza was conceived and created in 1991 by Perry Farrell (lead singer of Jane's Addiction). It finished in 1997, but reemerged and revived itself in 2003. It's held in Grant Park, Chicago, in the United fking States and it attracts around 65,000 people over three days. This year it's held on August 7th-9th.
The lineup this year boasts the likes of Depeche Mode, Tool, The Killers, Jane's Addiction (of course), Beastie Boys, Kings of Leon, Lou Reed, Ben Harper, Snoop Dogg, Tv On The Radio, Vampire Weekend.........
phew.......needed a breath
......The Decemberists, Neko Case, Animal Collective, Band of Horses, Of Montreal, Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes, Kaiser Chiefs, Crystal Castles, Bon Iver
......deep breath
.....Santigold, Cold War Kids, Deerhunter, Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn and John, Gomez, Glasvegas, Passion Pit, Ra Ra Riot, Friendly Fires, Simian Mobile Disco, Hercules and Love Affair, Rye Rye, No Age and sooooooooooo many more!
The more and more we look over this year's lineup, the more and more we think about stabbing ourselves in the neck because we can't get over there. Dam you Perry!
