Vampire Weekend have finished writing their lyrics and are now working on their sound for their new album, expected to be released this September.
According to Pitchfork, the boys are currently in their Brooklyn studio putting together the music for their sophomore LP. When asked what their sound is going to be like, frontman Ezra Koenig said "It's definitely going to be a recognizably Vampire Weekend sound, but there are going to be new sounds. We're trying to challenge ourselves not to use the same bag of tricks that we used on the first album-- different instruments, stuff like that."
Keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij is once again producing the album.
Newish song 'White Sky' has been circulating the net for a while now, played at a couple of recent gigs and even performed live on the Jimmy Kimmel show. However, whether it appears on their new album or not is yet to be confirmed. Music Universe don't think the song is anything near their best, but have no doubt that their new albums will be kick-ass.
