Perhaps taking in some inspiration from Ricky Gervais, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie have told British music magazine Q that there will only be one more series of their self-titled television show.
The show which just finished it’s first season run on Network Ten will have a second ten episode season before rapping up for good. The reason – the boys are struggling to come up with quality material. “We’ve got a lot of half-songs,” said Clement. “We’ve got an album’s worth of beginnings of songs.”
Unlike the show’s first series, which borrowed songs from the band’s previous live performances and BBC radio series, season two will feature 100% new material. The show is a cult hit in both the United Kingdom and the United States, with Jermain and Bret playing headlines shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
The added publicity of the show has seen the boys expand their reach. McKenzie has recently auditioned for a part in the forthcoming Justice League of America movie, while Clement will feature in Jared Hess’ (creator of Napoleon Dynamite ) new film Gentlemen Broncos.
Season two of Flight Of The Conchords is due to air in mid-2009.
Hopefully post production, Flight of The Conchords can make an appearance over here in Australia!!!
Please..
