Jack White forms supergroup - The Dead Weather

Jack White (The White Stripes) has begun yet another new band. This time he has joined forces with The Kills hottie, Alison Mosshart, along with Jack's Raconteurs/Saboteurs band mates Dean Fertita (QOTSA) and Jack Lawrence (The Greenhornes). Sounds like a mini supergroup to me. Anyhow, they are known as The Dead Weather.

The Dead Weather, played a launch party concert the other night in Nashville, to which one party guest described them as "a stripped-down version of the White Stripes". They are set to release their debut album 'Horehound' on Jack's Third Man record label in June.

Not to worry White Stripes fans, despite launching his new project, Jack has no plans to turn his back on his other groups (White Stripes and Raconteurs).

Speaking about the White Stripes, his manager Ian Mordona said: "They've made a movie and there will be a new album out, probably next year." Movie? God knows what thats going to be like, but if its anything like their scene from the movie 'Coffee and Ciggarettes', we're in for a strange, strange film.
