Fat Freddys Drop into Australia

We've just been informed by Ash, our Kiwi correspondent, that New Zealand 7-piece roots, dub and reggae band Fat Freddys Drop are coming for a short tour of Australia this October.

The band released their second studio album 'Dr Boondigga and The Big BW' back in June and it quickly became a number-one album in New Zealand in its first week of release and was certified Platinum in just four days. The New Zealand Herald thought the album was "beautifully cruisy, at times uplifting, and, if you're patient, it occasionally gives you the shivers, man."

Thanks to their sensational live performances, Fat Freddys Drop first studio album 'Based on a True Story' went gold and number one just a day after it had been released and with very little marketing or advertising. The band is no doubt one of New Zealand’s finest exports and definitely worth catching if you haven't already.

Tickets went on sale Wednesday 26 August.

Friday 16 October – The Palace, Melbourne VIC
Saturday 17 October - The Forum, Sydney NSW
Sunday 18 October – The Forum, Sydney NSW
