The Pixies announce 'The Doolittle' Australia tour

The Pixies are returning to Australia for the first time since 2007 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their classic 1989 album, 'Doolittle'.

On the 'Doolittle' tour, the Pixies will perform all of the songs from 'Doolittle' and its related B-sides, as well as classics such as 'Debaser', 'Wave of Mutilation', 'Here Comes Your Man', 'Hey', and 'Gouge Away'. Looking at the dates of their gigs, it looks like we could be in store for a couple of shows in each capital city.

The group - Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering - thought this was "a good opportunity to play all of the songs from that album, something we don't normally do at a regular gig." "We wanted to do something special for Doolittle's 20th anniversary," The Pixies songwriter and singer Black Francis said.

Pixies ‘Doolittle’ tour dates:

Sydney, Hordern Pavilion – Sunday March 14
Brisbane, Convention Centre – Thursday March 18
Melbourne, Festival Hall – Saturday March 20
Adelaide, Thebarton Theatre – Wednesday March 24
Perth, Belvoir Amphitheatre – Saturday March 27

Welcome back Pixies. Seriously, welcome back.
