Maximo Park to play Australia in November

Gee there's been a few tours announced today. In what seems like the final one for the day, Maximo Park are bringing their rocking shows back to Australia.

They were last in the country back in March 2008 for the Playground Weekender festival to support their second album 'Our Earthly Pleasures'. The follow-up to their Mercury Prize nominated debut album 'A Certain Trigger', unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. Never fear thoug, for Maximo Park are back with a new one titled 'Quicken The Heart'. Released back in May, the album was produced by Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Talking Heads, Nick Cave) and has led to Clash Magazine claiming that "they haven’t lost their knack for writing an infectious tune, and the album packs more punch than their previous long-player."

Led by mercurial frontman Paul Smith, the Maximo Park live show is just amazing. Smith is always seen jumping around like an exuberant teenager and they truly put on a really fun-filled show. Definitely worth seeing.

Tickets on sale Friday 11 September.

Maximo Park are playing at the following dates:

Wednesday November 11 – Billboard, Melbourne
Thursday November 12 – The Hi Fi, Brisbane
Friday November 13 – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Sunday November 15 – Fowlers Live, Adelaide
Tuesday November 17 – Capitol, Perth
