Death Cab For Cutie have scored their first Number One album on the Billboard chart with the release of ‘Narrow Stairs’.
The record which sold 144,000 copies in its first week of release, is the follow-up to 2005’s ‘Plans’ which reached Number Four and spent 50 weeks on the chart.
'Narrow Stairs' is Death Cab's 7th release and has been considered by Rolling Stone as "a dark, strangely compelling record that trades the group's bright melancholy for something nearer to despair."
First single from the album is 'I Will Possess Your Heart'.
'Narrow Stairs' was released from Atlantic Records on May 12th.
