Kiedis quits Red Hot Chili Peppers

Well, some RHCP fans may have seen it coming, whilst others thought it would never happen, but nevertheless, Anthony Kiedis has told Rolling Stone magazine that he has quit the band or taken an 'extended break' for at least the next 12 months.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Kiedis framed the year-long hiatus as a chance to “just live and breathe and eat and learn new things.” He told the magazine that pressure built up following the last Chili Peppers album and world tour.

“We’re disbanded for the moment. We actually took a very long time to make the Stadium Arcadium record, because we wrote a lot of songs and then got way too married to them and decided we need it to be a double album. Which was a great experience, but it took forever. It was really a gruelling, long haul and it followed two other very long hauls, Californication and By The Way.”

Kiedis remarked that he’s caring for his young son and learning surfing, while the other band members dabble in various musical projects.

To be honest with you, Jase Knows Music feels quite comfortable with this story and has no feelings of sadness or happiness. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were an unreal band and they always will be - past, present or future.
