Amy Winehouse diagnosed with Emphysema

Amy Winehouse's drug spree has had a major effect on her body. Her father Mitch has confirmed that the singer is suffering from emphysema.

Mitch Winehouse made the statement to the Sunday Mirror. He blames his daughter's crack cocaine dependency on her condition.

The 24 year old may have to wear a mask and live the rest of her life in a wheelchair.

Mitch said that her "lungs are all gunked up" and that she has "70% lung capacity".

The singer was taken to hospital in London last week after staying awake for 48 hours. Doctors found an irregular heartbeat.

Emphysema is an unusual health problem for people in their 20s. Winehouse's lifestyle is to blame.

The disease may affect Winehouse's voice. This may mean that the career of Amy Winehouse may have come to an end. If not corrected, she will have trouble performing and will struggle with recording.
