Mixmag described Hadouken! as having “the Prodigy’s energy, Dizzee’s vocal delivery and Bloc Party’s indie-dance”. Although that might sound like an unholy mish-mash on paper, when you actually get to hear UK nurave sensations Hadouken! it’s not hard to see why people are tipping them as the next big thing.
Taking their name from the legendary catch-cry of Ryu in the Street Fighter videogame (Hadouken! Hadouken!), Hadouken! are from Leeds in the UK. The 5-piece released their debut album last month, which features the party anthems ‘That Boy That Girl’ and ‘Get Smashed Gate Crash’.
Announced this week in the final line-up for the Splendour In The Grass, it’ll be the band’s first visit to Australia and after the festival they’re set to play headline dates in Sydney and Melbourne.
