As one of the hottest tips to experience great fame in 2009, Tame Impala, who have played at nearly every single festival this summer, have managed to climb the heights of public recognition a lot quicker than your average psych-rock band. They even got a write up in the most recent edition of British mag NME, where they were described as a 'next big thing'. We at Music Universe love them to death.
Well, whilst they edge closer and closer to world domination, the Perth three piece will embark on their extensive 'Skeleton Tiger' national tour next month. Late last year the winsome spirits behind Tame Impala, Kevin Parker (guitar and vocals), Dominic Simper (bass guitar) and Jay Watson (drums and vocals) released their hugely successful debut EP. 'Skeleton Tiger' is a downright spiritual experience, making the listener feel like they've been taken back to the late 60's, lying in a smoky room filled with bands, artists, filmmakers and groupies ... and listening to the sounds of experimental-psychedelic tunes.
