According to the sick record label Matador, Interpol's lead singer, lyricist, guitarist and genius Paul Banks will release a solo album under his alias name Julian Plenti.
The album 'Skyscraper' will be release on August 4th. Banks has worked under the Julian Plenti alias for several years apparently, even before Interpol formed. Julian Plenti got credit on Banks' 'Narc' remix off the Antics special edition album in 2005.
According to the Julian Plenti website the album was recorded recently, but some of the songs were written more than ten years ago. The album has been described as having a "cocky, sexy" feel, with tracks that sound similar to Interpol mixed with Beirut.
