Everyone, take a deep breath....
The lineup is official for the second ever Golden Plains Festival (March 8-10 2008). There are way too many to talk about, but here is the low-down on why I am excited.
If you haven’t heard already the weird and wonderful Ween will be making their way Downunder in March and making a pit-stop at the Nolan Farm. If that news isn’t exciting enough, the fact that they will be gracing the GP crowd with a two hour set, may be just enough to make you flip your skirts.
Don’t flip them too early though kids – there are more wonders to come.
All the way from Detroit city, the great- grandchildren of garage rock – The Dirtbombs – are coming to scare the cows and rock the punters. Joining them from that side of the Pacific will be NYC soul swingers Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings.
Also, the glorious Iron and Wine will be filling the sky with his beautiful voice, whilst all those who are as obsessed with Eastern Europe as me will be tingling that the beautiful Beirut is also coming to town.
The first allocation of tix for the festivla will be sold via ballot before they go on sale to the general public. To enter the Ballot, visit www.goldenplains.com.au before midnight on Wednesday 14 November.
Stay tuned to Music Universe for ticket updates and further announcements.
