V Festival 2008 announced

The 2nd annual V Festival was announced today with a myriad of rock gods filling the first announcement.

As previously reported on Music Universe, Smashing Pumpkins will be headlining, but the festival will also feature 80s pop legends Duran Duran, the iconic Jesus and Mary Chain, French insomnia curers Air, the ballsiest rock 'n' roll band in the world today Queens of the Stone Age, brazil's latest electro-rock sensation CSS, Australia's latest dance duo The Presets and more .

Most importantly, this year's festival won't feature the debarcle of last year's "Best Of the V Festival", where Melbourne and Adelaide were given a split version of the festival over two days and charged almost the same amount as other cities for each show.

This time Adelaide will miss out, but Melbourne and Perth will get the full festival treatment.

The full list of bands is: Smashing Pumpkins, Duran Duran, Jesus and Mary Chain, Air, Queens of the Stoneage, The Presets, CSS, Mika, The Tough Alliance, Plug In City.
