Fans of Iron and Wine (aka Sam Beam) have been patiently awaiting his third full-length album, The Shepherd’s Dog for a while. Those of us here in Australia have had to exercise even more patience, as he hasn’t been seen live down under since 2004. The good news is—the wait is now over, as his March 2008 tour has just been announced. Coincidentally, Beam will be embarking on his third visit here to support his third album. The Shepherd’s Dog samples a heap of instruments and in order to do the album justice Beam will introduce a full Iron and Wine line-up for the tour. Only three shows are scheduled, so be sure to get your tickets when they go on sale November 30.
