Kanye West began crying on stage in Paris as he launched his European tour, just one week after the death of his mother.
He played for one hour, then was about to play the track 'Hey Mama' – a dedication to his mother, Donda West from 'Late Registration' – but couldn't go through with it.
Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire said to people.com "He said the word, 'Mother,' and just couldn't go any further. A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn't continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying, while the band continued playing."
At this stage, the remaining tour dates are going ahead as scheduled.
