Beck is getting together with a group of friends to form the ‘Beck & Friends Music Club’ in which they will re-record entire albums in one-day sessions and post a track a week on Beck's website.
A single album will be chosen to be covered and used as a framework, with nothing rehearsed or arranged ahead of time.
The first album in the series to be re-worked is ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’.
MGMT, Devendra Banhart, Jamie Lidell and Nigel Godrich (known as 6th member of Radiohead) have all been enlisted so far to take part in the club.
If only we could all have friends like these.
