Broken Social Scene are coming! Broken Social Scene are coming! I don't think you understand or can hear the excitement in my voice.
BSS will be touring down under for the Laneway festival and performing at a string of sideshows along the way. BSS are known to be an indie-supergroup, having an 11-piece collective, which includes members from bands such as Stars, K-Os, Metric, Do Make Say Think, The Dears and Feist. It's a god dam Canadian rock ensemble! They really hit the scene with their sophmore effort, 'You Forgot It In People'. It actually won a Juno for "Alternative Album of the Year" in 2003. They released a b-sides/rarities album in 2004 titled 'Bee Hives' and then a third album - self titled - was welcomed by the indie cohorts in 2005.
This year, BSS released a strange kind of album. 'Broken Social Scene presents: Kevin Drew - Spirit If.....'. It appears to be a solo album for Drew, however, many members of BSS and other bands have contributed. Either way, BSS continue to roll out the punches.
I look forward to seeing them play live in Australia in 2008.
