The line-up for Victoria’s annual autumn festival Golden Plains is already looking like one of the best for 2008, but it looks like they’ve found room for a few more big names.
After winning the triple j J Award for best Australian album of 2007, The Panics are bringing their well-oiled show to the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre for the first time. Turntablist extradonaire Kid Koala has been invited back after rocking Meredith in 2006, while Swedish indie-popster Jens Lekman will show why he’s a superstar back home.
The three shining new additions join Sharon Jones And The Dap Kings, Ween, The Vines, Iron And Wine, Beirut, Optimo, The Bang Gang Deejays, The Dirtbombs, British India, The Bamboos, South Rakkas Crew, Buffalo Tom, Jay Reatard, Scientists Of Modern Music, Future Of The Left, Jane Badler and Sir, Kamikaze Trio, Pikelet, The Sea And Cake and many more.
