The National tour Australia

"The atmosphere of Joy Division and the delicate twang of Wilco. Inspirational." (Time Out).

The National formed in 1999, when five friends from Cincinnati, Ohio met again after all of them had relocated to Brooklyn, NY. For years, the band had received critical praise but it wasn't until 2005's 'Alligator' that a wider audience finally discovered them.

Drawing similarities to Interpol, The National also mixes guitar, bass, piano and drums and festooned with brass, woodwinds, backing vocals, strings, and organs. Their latest album is titled "Boxer" and their Australian tour is through Civil Society. Their first show in Melbourne sold out almost instantly and a second one has been announced. If you know what's good for you, you will get along to see these guys play live.
