Indie kids of the nation rejoice! Okkervil River has announced sideshows adjunct to their St Jerome’s Laneway Festival appearances. The dates will mark the Texan five piece’s third trip downunder.
Okkervil River has long been a favourite with Aussie indie music fans since emerging on the scene nearly a decade ago. With the band’s latest album The Stage Names being described as genre defining, these tour dates should mark very special appearances indeed.
Having spent the last two years touring off the back of their previous effort Black Sheep boy there is little doubt that the band will be looking forward to showcasing tracks from their latest album.
Band member Will Sherrif: “This is my favourite album we’ve done. I think of it as a message to myself, from myself, to keep going. And I also think of it as an expression of love and alliance with people who kept going even when they knew it was all over.”
