
Sam Riley has won the Rising Star Award at this year's Richard Attenborough Film Awards for his portrayal of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis.
The former 10,000 Things singer, starred in the biopic 'Control', directed by former NME photographer Anton Corbijn.
Riley also played The Fall frontman Mark E Smith in 2002's '24 Hour Party People', but did not make the final cut. He’s next film is British sci-fi flick 'Franklyn', directed by Gerald McMorrow.
