In a blog entry on their MySpace, perennially hip three-piece Yeah Yeah Yeahs confirmed a new album is on its way.
We have a wet and wild feeling about 2008 and we’re not kidding,” the band writes. “YYYs are currently writing and recording another record. A chunk of December was spent on a musical farm in Massachusetts throwing cow dung at each other; making music makes us do strange things. Holidays brought adventures and performances into the YYY foreground.”
According to the blog, the YYY kids have been keeping busy. Karen O has co-directed a music video for indie-punksters Tiny Masters of Today and contributed to the new Bob Dylan 'I'm Not There' soundtrack, guitarist Nick Zinner is busy with remixes (including one for Marilyn Manson!) and drummer Brian Chase has his own solo project Drums and Drones.
There’s no hint as yet when that dung-inspired record will hit the shelves.
