It seems LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has been hard at work on something kinda different. With disco on the back-burner for the moment, he’s putting together a “classic rock record”.
Murphy told BBC’s 6Music he is working on the album with his long-time offsider Pat Mahoney, plus former members of folk-rock tearaways Hockey Night – Scott Wells and Paul Spranglers. Apparently Mr Murphy will be on the bass guitar.
There were also hints the project will call on the talents of members of Hercules and Love Affair. This seems like it could be quite intriguing. Expect to hear something in the new year sometime.
