Muscles erases MySpace account

Indie-electro artist, Muscles, is taking a stand against the musical establishment by deleting his MySpace account and others could follow suit too.

The decision effective today (October 27) was prompted by the creation of MySpace Music, a joint venture between MySpace, EMI Music, SONY BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony ATV. The new player features ad-supported song streaming and the option of buying tunes online from Amazon's MP3 store.

“Until they make clear their fair deal for independent musicians … I cannot be apart of this money-driven trash community it has now become (as fun as it may be),” Muscles said in a release.

“It used to be about the music, but now all I see is pictures of Lindsay Lohan every time I login and it makes me sick in my stomach! She is an actor, a puppet, and personally I couldn't give a fuck about her personal life.

“MySpace began as an incredible social networking tool and fantastic resource for underground music, but now if independent musicians are shoved out of the new MySpace music deal, muscles as a musician will be leaving MySpace forever.”

Fans, don't despair, it doesn’t spell the end of Muscles’ online presence. He will still be online through several websites including musclesmusic.net, muscleswebshop.com and a new blog musclesmusicblog.com.

In other Muscles news, the singer has nearly finished the follow-up to his debut, 'Guns Babes Lemonade'.

Good for you Muscles. Good for you.
